    About MVHAP and the Public Health Advocacy Institute

    The Motor Vehicle Hazards Archive and this website, AutoHazardInfo.com, are made possible by a grant from the Santos Family Foundation and individual donors. In the belief that the history of motor vehicle injury control is a vitally important component of public health knowledge and progress, MVHAP is dedicated to the preservation and accessibility of motor vehicle injury-control historical materials. The director of the Motor Vehicle Hazards Archive, Ben Kelley, is an educator, analyst and policy expert in the area of motor vehicle injury causation. Click here for his biography.

    MVHAP is a program of the Public Health Advocacy Institute. PHAI, a research affiliate of Northeastern University School of Law, is an interdisciplinary project that works toward these goals:

    • Promoting the law in common cause with public health;
    • Providing research and education pertaining to public health, public health law, and the public health implications of legal decision;
    • Advocating for public awareness and understanding of the impact of legal decisions upon public health and the importance of public health to law.
