TOYOTA RECALLING DEFECTIVE-BELT CARS

Toyota Motor Corp. was reported to have recalled ">46,000 Lexus cars in the U.S. and other countries abroad, and 11,000 in Japan, in order to fix a faulty seat belt part. Toyota said it will replace seat belts in both front seats; the belts can become jammed inside the belt receptacles due to a faulty part, it said. The affected cars are Lexus GS and IS sedans. No accidents have been reported due to the defect, Toyota said.
