JEEP LIBERTY SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILURES PROBED

According to the Detroit Free Press, DaimlerChrysler AG's Jeep Liberty SUV is being investigated by U.S. auto safety regulators because its front suspension can fail. The probe centers on 2004 versions of the Liberty and may lead to 172,484 vehicles being recalled, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on its Web site... The agency received seven complaints that a ball joint in the suspension broke while the Liberty was being driven.
