NEW NHTSA ADMINISTRATOR NAMED

Nicole Nason, a lobbyist for the Department of Transportation, reportedly has been nominated by the White House as the new head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Nason, 35, succeeds Jeffrey Runge, a physician, who left NHTSA to become medical director of the Homeland Security Department. She is not known to have experience in motor vehicle safety issues.
